The actor who starred in ‘Varsity Blues’ has died at the age of 45 after a prolonged illness. Ron Lester was struggling with liver and kidney problems for a long time. He was in the hospital for the last 4 months. He always had issues with obesity in the past. He even gained weight up to 508 pounds at one point.
The actor played the role of Billy Bob in the 1999 football movie ‘Varsity Blues’. He breathed his last on Friday in Dallas. According to his agent, Dave Bradley, Ron breathed his last with his fiancée by his bedside.
After gaining 508 pounds, Ron faced severe gastric problems, and had to undergo gastric bypass surgery. He recovered from overweight and lost around 300 pounds. Ron also played roles in the Television series ‘Popular and ‘Freaks and Geeks’.
